Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara Review

Hey Girls!

Today is my review of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I couldn’t wait to try this mascara when it came out because it was dubbed as a dupe for Benefit’s They’re Real mascara. The Benefit mascara is one of my all-time favourites and one of my favourites of 2014

When I went to Priceline (pharmacy in Australia) they had a special edition pack with a liquid eyeliner. If you missed my review of the eyeliner then check out last week’s post.

Product Claims:

Did you know your lashes grow in more than just one layer? New Lash Sensational Mascara unfolds layer upon layer for the new full fan effect.

Why You’ll Love It

Try New Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybelline New York for a sensational full fan effect. Our first patented fanning brush with 10 layers of bristles reveals a full flourish of lashes. Liquid Ink formula coats from all sides.

For Best Results

  • Use inner curve to reach the roots of lashes
  • Follow through tips of lashes with longer bristles to fan out

My Thoughts

The mascara comes in a metallic lilac tube. The wand is hard bristle wand which is slightly curved. One side has big fanned bristles and the other has short fanned bristles for the lower lashes which is really clever. The brush fans from shorter to longer bristle in the middle so that your lashes fan out.

My tip when you’re using this mascara is to wipe any excess product off the brush using the tube. I think the brush picks up a bit too much product which can clump if you don’t wipe the excess off. Once you clear the excess product off the wand, this mascara goes on a dream. It fans out and elongates the lashes dramatically.

While the product isn’t 100% perfect I like it a lot and will definitely repurchase. It gives the exact same effect as Benefit’s They’re Real for a fraction of the cost.

Overall Rating

8/10

Have you tried this mascara? If so what did you think?
