Looking for some motivation or ideas for a healthy, easy meal ideas? Then look no further! Today I’m sharing my delicious recipe for chilli which I make from scratch all the time. Homemade chilli is simple and delicious and best part, this recipe is healthy and can be served in variety of healthy ways!
This chilli recipe includes the tomato sauce recipe i posted last week and also involved mixing together some herbs and spices for flavour. You would be so surprised at how much sugar, starch, oils and flour can be in the ready made season mixes. If you’ve hit a plateau in your weightloss then simple changes to how you make your meals can make a big impact.
Another benefit of making the spice mix yourself is saving money. Buying some jars of spices can help you make a tonne of different dishes again and again whereas buying sachets and jars of sauce costs a lot more for just one single meal.
It’s one of my favourite healthy meals to have during the week because it’s quick and easy to make.
Frylite/olive oil spray/coconut oil spray
500g of lean mince
2 cups of Tomato sauce
2 tsp of cumin
2 tsp of paprika
2 tsp of coriander
2 tsp of ground coriander
1 tsp of chilli powder
If I’m trying to loose weight fast then I personally don’t add beans. Feel free to add them if you wish.
- onion and garlic stir until soft
- Add mince and pepper
- When mince is Brown stir in tomato sauce
- Add all herbs and spices
- Simmer for 10 mins
- Serve and Eat!
To keep your whole meal healthy make a batch and serve in different ways for variety. Sometimes I serve in lettuce leaf cups (like tacos), other times I stuff mushrooms or peppers (topped with goats cheese is yum), sometimes I’ll have it on top of sweet potato crisps (like nachos) or simply serve with rice.
I’ll have a post coming up soon about meal prepping, it’s importance and some tips so stay tuned!
Whose going to give this recipe a go?
