Homemade Healthy Meatball Recipe

Hey Everyone,

Today’s post is a delicious homemade recipe that can be served in so many ways. Like all my other posts these this recipe is Slimming World friendly, Paleo, Gluten Free, Dairy Free and will fit in to every weightloss nutrition plan.

This recipe includes my homemade tomato sauce which you can find by clicking here. It’s a seriously healthy recipe that is preservative free and free from extra salt and sugars. If you don’t want to make your own then tinned tomatoes can be used instead

Ingredients:

  • 500g of lean mince
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups of homemade tomato sauce/ 1 tinned tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp of basil
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tbsp of fresh chili or chili flakes

Method:

Mix your mince, onion and egg together in a bowl until well mixed through

Roll the mixture into balls

Leave sit for approx. one hour if you have time. This helps the mixture to stick together.  It’s no biggy if you miss this step.

Add your tomato sauce or a tin of tomatoes along with the remaining herbs and spices over the top

Place in the oven at 180 degrees for 25 mins until mince is cooked through

Healthy Homemade Meatballs

Top Tips:

There’s so many healthy serving options including courgette or carrot spaghetti and a simple a salad is really good too.

Spice things up and change up the mince meat you use. Chicken, turkey and lamb mince is also perfect for this recipe.
