Bioderma, Garnier & Loreal Micellar Water Review & Comparison

Hi Girls!

Micellar water has become very popular to use as a makeup remover and cleaner and I’ve tried and tested 3 of them  so you don’t have to. Today I’m going to run through the pros and cons of  BiodermaSensibioH2O, Garnier Micellar Cleaning Water and Loreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution. I think my favourite might surprise you!

Before I start, my skin type is sensitive that can tend to get dehydrated from time to time. I also suffer from breakouts from time to tme. Although it says that there’s no need to wash these off afterwards I only use this as a make up remover. With all of these I always fully cleanse my face afterwards.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O

Let’s start with the most expensive of the 3, Bioderma. This is a staple favourite of many micellar water lovers. The one I have is for sensitive skin. This one is dermatological tested and a favourite of make up artists because it’s gentle on the skin.

Product Claims:

  • ‘Combines performance and very high tolerance
  • Cleanses and removes make-up from the face and eyes
  • Soothes and clears up irritated skin
  • Produces a feeling of instant freshness
  • Non-rinse

Product + :

  • Even removes water-resistant make-up
  • One bottle of Sensibio H2O sold around the world every 5 seconds!’

My Thoughts:

I really like the packaging of this product. It’s well designed so that you don’t pour out too much of the product which is important because of the consistency.

This product removes all my makeup including eye makeup really gently. It doesn’t sting or burn my eyes.

Straight after using my skin feels clean, smooth and soft and I feel very refreshed.

The next morning my skin feels a bit oily especially around my forehead.

Garnier Micellar Water

This is a firm favourite of a lot of people I know and follow on social media. It is an excellent beauty purchase if this works for you because of the price.

Product Claims:

‘Micellar Cleansing Water removes make-up, cleanses and soothes skin on the face, eyes and lips in one step without needing to rinse off.

For the 1st time by Garnier, Micellar technology is introduced in an all-in-one cleanser.
Micelles are an active cleansing ingredient which act as a magnet to capture impurities, make-up and sebum on the skin without vigorous rubbing.
The result? Perfectly cleansed and refreshed skin without vigorous rubbing or rinsing. A soothing formula without perfume to suit all skin types, even sensitive’

My Thoughts:

The packaging of this product is again excellent. It doesn’t dispense too much of the product and the lid let’s you control the amount you need.

This one takes off most of my makeup with ease but I find my eye makeup doesn’t budge as quickly as the other two products. This doesn’t bother me that much because for the price you pay for the whole bottle I think it’s ok to have to use a little more.

Afterwards my skin feels fresh, soft and hydrated.

Unfortunately the next morning my skin is covered in a greasy film. My forehead is red and blotchy and it feels sensitive and stingy. I don’t think this is compatable with my skin type

If it was compatable with my skin I would be buying it again and again because the price is amazing!

Loreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution

This is one that I haven’t heard much about and it definitely deserves some talking about.

Product Claims:

‘In one step this 3-in-1 cleansing water cleanses and removes all traces of make-up from the face, eyes and lips. Beyond make-up removal, this formula removes impurities and tones the skin for a sublime, soft finish. Formulated without fragrance or alcohol. Hypoallergenic.’

My Thoughts:

The packaging is probably the only thing that really annoys me about this one. It pours quickly and is a bit messy I went through the bottle really quickly.

This one takes all my makeup off , including eye makeup,  really easily and doesn’t sting my eyes at all.

Afterwards my skin feels smooth and hydrated after use.

The following day my skin still feels  soft and refreshed.

I love the formula of the Loreal and this one seems to work best for my skin type. The Bioderma is a close second however I do tend to get a bit too oily. Unfortunately the Garnier didn’t work well with my skin which is a shame considering the price and I know a lot of other people love it.

Have you tried any of these yet or any others? Let me know your favourite below!

I am currently using Bioderma and I like it for the most part, but I still have to use another product to remove waterproof eye makeup. I think this is the case with most micellar water products so it is not a deal breaker for me.
