Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette Exposure

This Christmas I was completely spoiled with the amount of palettes I got as presents. I got so many that have been on my wishlist for ages and I’m still feeling like a very lucky girl with the friends I’ve made here in Australia. One of the amazing palettes I got was an Hourglass Modernist eyshadow palettes and the I got the shade ‘Exposure’. This palette is absolutely stunning for many reasons so keep reading for review, swatches and eyeshodow looks I’ve created!

Product Claims:

‘An artist-inspired eyeshadow palette with seamless color transitions offering effortless blending in a single pan. The innovative multi-press, three-dimensional design, combined with a fine, creamy consistency, introduces a new level of control for blending and picking up pigment. Available in 7 curated color palettes.’

My Thoughts:

The Hourglass Cosmetics packaging is beautiful and one of the best on the market in my opinion. I love the colour! The packaging is sturdy and comes with a handy mirror. The only thing I don’t like is that the logo eventually wears off.

The eyeshadows are not separated like most other palettes which is supposed to allow for blending and transitioning of colours. The design is really pretty and unusual so this palette certainly stands out from the crowed. I almost didn’t want to use it because it looks so pretty.

The shadows can be used as they are or wet for a more intense colour. The shadows are really buttery and very easy to blend. I can see this palette lasting forever because it takes only a small amount of product to create the perfect look.IMG_4108

The colour type I have is Exposure which is a mostly plum colour palette. There’s a mix of finishes including matte, shimmer and satin. The colours work beautifully together with 3 different shades of plum, a shimmery gold and a subtle shimmery white. It’s a palette that can work for  a subtle day time look and take you right through until night for a dramatic look. 4 out of 5 of the shades are seriously pigmented while the white on the end is a beautiful subtle shade for the brow bone.

Here’s a look at some swatches of the shadows in daylight. Unfortunately the white shade doesn’t show up at much when it’s swatched but as I said above it is the perfect shade for the brow bone as a subtle highlight here is definitely more in at the moment. If you’d like to see a video swatch head on over to my Instagram.

I created two different looks so that you have an idea of what they look like on. The first is a darker look and the second is a more subtle look. Excuse my eyebrows, they’ve been growing at an enormous rate because of the sun!

Stunning palette my dear, and I love the looks you’ve created. The packaging truly is magnificent too. I have a couple of their bronzer/highlighter palettes but none of their eye shadows – well not yet anyway ha ha ♥

I love all the colours but gravitate towards the warmer tones. I love the olive green one. I also really like the Ambient light powder. it’s so natural and pretty on x

It is pricey that’s for sure but it’s so worth it if you’re looking for a gift. This was a christmas gift so luckily i didn’t have to fork out the cash for this one myself x
