Hi Girls,
Before Christmas I discovered that Elf Cosmetics is now available in Australia!! I never got the chance to try any of their products because it was never available in Ireland or Australia so I was excited with my discovery. Elf is known to be a brand with affordable products that really work so of course I wanted to put on to the test.
I chose the Tone Adjusting Face Primer in the lavender shade. The reason I chose a primer was simple, I ran out of my trusty Smashbox. The reason I chose the lavender shade is because I wanted something that was brightening and something that would even skin tone.
Product Claims:
Transform your face into a flawless and smooth canvas with the Mineral Infused Face Primer. Developed to combat against excess oil, flaky dryness, enlarged pores and fine lines. This clear multipurpose skin primer will prepare your skin so makeup goes on evenly for a long lasting satin finish.
Features a new and improved air pump! For best results, you may need to pump the component several times before product dispenses.
Recommended uses:
Tone Adjusting Green is ideal for minimizing redness and correcting blotchy skin.
Brightening Lavender is ideal for uneven skin tones and to brighten dull or yellow tones.
Radiant Glow (contains shimmer) is ideal for creating a luminizing effect on dark spots and uneven skin tones.
My Thoughts:
First off I love the packaging. It looks nice, it has a pump and it feels more expensive than it is. The only thing to mention is you can’t see how much or how little product is left so this will probably run out suddenly on me. So far this one is lasting over two months and I’ve used it everyday since buying.
The product dispenses easily and it’s an iridescent purple colour. The texture is very similar to Smashbox Photofinish except a little thinner. I apply this with my fingers and it goes on nice and even. It smooths over my pores and lines and creates a good canvas for my foundation. My skin feels really soft once I put this on and then my foundation goes on more evenly.
I don’t think this primer makes my foundation last any longer so this is something to note if that’s what you’d buy it for. This doesn’t really bother me because I use a long lasting foundation. I think this is really hydrating so it’s perfect for those with a dry skin type to achieve a natural dewy glow. Although the product claims to make skin brighter I didn’t notice that it did.
This primer cost $13 AUD and I’m really happy with the results it gives for this price. I love a primer because it smooths over pores and I feel like it hydrates my skin. I think this is perfect for people with dry/normal skin or people with fine lines or large pores. I don’t think this will be great for oily skin but if you love it and you’ve oily skin leave a comment below.
Overall Rating:
8/10
If it made my makeup last longer and made my skin look brighter it would get 10!

Lol, I just posted a review on it today! Haha. And if you have oily skin, I have added a link to another blogger’s review of it at the bottom of the review. She has oily skin, so you can also read hers before you buy it 🙂

Haha maybe it’s not a coincidence at all 😉
And how funny is that? I want to try that foundation too because people recommend it and have given good reviews on it. I’m broke so all the items I want right now will have to wait 😦
