Kiehls Skincare Review: Cleanser, Face Cream & Eye Cream

A couple of months ago my boyfriend bought me one of the Kiehls skincare packs. He did very well because he bought me the hydration pack which would be the pack most suited to my skin type! Skincare is a little funny to review because I think you need to give the product a good go before you can actually tell if it’s changing your skin for the better. I’ve been trying these out for almost three months now and can safely say there’s two in the pack that are worth investing in and one I won’t be repurchasing.

The skincare pack included Ultra Facial Oil Free Cleanser, Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado and the famous Ultra Facial Cream.

Ultra Facial Oil Free Cleanser

Product Claims:

  • Oil-free, quick-lathering cleansing foam thoroughly removes impurities and visibly reduces excess oil on skin’s surface, while leaving skin looking more balanced
  • Non-stripping, sulfate-free formula leaves skin clean and refreshed without over-drying
  • Paraben-free
  • Silicone-Free
  • Fragrance-Free

My Thoughts:

I’m going to start with the product I liked the least. It’s not that I don’t like this product but it didn’t have the wow factor for me and this is something I expect when I buy something that’s more on the expensive side. It definitely did the job in cleansing my skin and it left it squeaky clean quite literally. The downside for me was it stung my eyes leaving them a little bloodshot and it doesn’t remove any eye make-up.

I will continue to use this product until it’s gone but I think there’s other cleansers on the market that cost less and do a better job.

You might like this if you don’t have sensitive eyes. It does say to avoid the eye area when using this but I think it’s nearly impossible with a cleanser.

Ultra Facial Cream

Product Claims:

  • 24 Hour, light-textured hydrator
  • Reduces moisture loss
  • Continuous water replenishment throughout day
  • Inspired by our original, Ultra Facial Moisturizer

My Thoughts:

This is a cult product these days for many beauty lovers and after trying this out for myself I can definitely see why. The cream feels very nice on the skin and leaves my face feeling hydrated almost instantly. In the morning my skin feels soft, fresh and moisturised without any hint of a dry patch. If you’ve read previous posts you’ll know that I suffered from dry patches, especially around my nose, for a very long time. This has completely cured this.

The cream is also very gentle on my sensitive skin and it’s also fragrance free which I really like too.

I really love this product and I’ll continue to buy again and again.

Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

Product Claims:

  • Unique, concentrated texture
  • Does not migrate into eyes
  • Gently moisturizes the delicate eye area
  • Ophthalmologist and Dermatologist-Tested

My Thoughts:

Being honest, I have neglected my eye area for far too long. Considering I’m now in my late twenties I’m getting more and more concerned with wrinkles and keeping areas that will be prone to wrinkles more hydrated.

This product works perfectly in combination with the Ultra Facial Cream. My eye area is now hydrated after using this every night and makeup products look much better and last a lot longer around my eye area. My concealer no longer creases and my eyeshadow goes on a lot smoother.

This is another product that I’ll continue to buy. I really enjoy using it because it feels nice and cooling and it genuinely works.
