I love watching unboxing videos on youtube. I find the idea so exciting, like a monthly present delivered to your door. I’ve been looking into which box to subscribe to and then I received an email from Bellabox with a special offer. So I got my first box for $17.95 including postage which is really good. Plus I was eyeing up the Eye of Horus product pictured on their sneak peak.

My first box came within two weeks of purchasing. I got an online tracking number emailed to me and it was then delivered within two days of receiving this. I was so excited to open as I heard that everyone receives different products. I was praying I’d have the Eye of Horas product inside and good news, I did!

The box is really pretty and sturdy so there’s no chance of anything inside being damaged. I got 6 products altogether. I believe two were full size, three were sample size and then the last was like a small sachet of a product. I think this is really good. The box comes with a card with a description of each product and some tips for contouring.

Keep reading for my thoughts on what I got.

  1. Chella Cinnamon Highlighter Pencil-Full Size

I  wouldn’t use this product as a highlighter as I personally think the shade is very orange and because it has a shimmer finish rather than matte. I don’t like the colour as a highlighter but I do as an eye shadow. I really like it as a pencil for the eyes though and I’ll probably use it as a base for my eyeshadow. It’s creamy and blends really well. The swatch on my hand lasted a long time which is a great sign. I’m happy with this product and I’ll definitely use it.

  1. Eye of Horus Goddess Pencil-Full Size

I was so excited about getting this pencil as I’ve heard so many great things about them. I wasn’t disappointed. Mine came in the shade purple which I was delighted about just because it will compliment my brown eye colour really well. The colour is a wearable shade of purple so not super bright. It is shimmery bordering on glittery but not in a tacky way. It’s creamy and nice and easy to apply. The best part is that it’s waterproof and extremely long lasting. I love this product and I can’t wait to buy more colours.

Recommended Retail Price: $30.00

  1. John Frieda Frizz Ease Unwind Curls Calming Crème-Sample Size

This was probably the product I was least excited about. I’m kind of bad with buying hair products besides shampoo and conditioner (obviously!). I just don’t like putting a lot of product in my hair because I find it makes it flat. It smells nice and I’m familiar with the brand so I may eventually give this a try.

Recommended Retail Price: $15.99 for 88ml

  1. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Moisture Rich Night Cream-Sample Size

I was excited about this one because I’m always looking for night creams and I love cocoa butter. It smells so creamy. I’m going to wait to try this one though as I’ve heard of this causing breakouts and I’ve just gotten over one. I don’t want to go through another breakout so soon after the last one. I’ll be giving this a go soon.

Recommended Retail Price: $14.99 for 75g

  1. Romy Nouveau Moisturising Body Balm-Sample Size

This smells amazing!!! As soon as I opened this I was happy. It contains eucalyptus and lemongrass and the smell combined is delicious. I’ve never heard of this brand before so I’m delighted to try it out. I’m going to use this every night this week and see how it goes. My first impression from using last night is that it doesn’t feel sticky at all. It feels lightweight on the skin and sinks in pretty quickly. The smell on my skin is subtle and not overpowering. It’s really refreshing and my skin felt smooth afterwards. I’d definitely buy the full size just for the smell alone

Recommended Retail Price: $38.00 for 300ml

  1. Kora Organics By Miranda Kerr Skincare-Sachet Size

This is a rosehip oil sachet. I’m a huge fan of rosehip oil and use it as part of my skincare routine. The one I use was less than $20 so I’m not sure if I would buy one that’s double the price. I’m glad that I’ve a sample though and I’ll be happy to give this more luxurious a product to try. I’m interested to see the difference between a drugstore brand and high end. If only it magically made me look like Miranda Kerr lol!

Recommended Retail Price: From $37.50 to $59.95

Overall I’m really pleased with my first box. I got a product I really wanted (Eye of Horus) and some products that I’m really excited to try. The only product I didn’t really like was the John Freda calming crème but I’ll still put it to good use. I think this Bellabox was great value for money and I’m looking forward to my next one.
